Looking at the new framework this section appear very clear but what do we make of the reference to the setting's SEF?

Policies and procedures (page 16)
48. The inspector does not need to check all the policies, procedures and documentation but must check all
Disclosure and Barring Service records and record in their evidence base that they have done so.
49. The inspector should also check a small sample of other policies, procedures and documentation

 qualifications, including paediatric first aid (to ensure ratio and qualification requirements are met and whether
these in turn are having an impact on the quality of provision)

 the provision’s self-evaluation where not already submitted to Ofsted. (page 17)

The last one is a little ambiguous...does it mean that if we have not submitted it yet the inspector needs to see it?
or can cms still produce an alternative form of self evaluation?

What do you think?

Hmmm...the SEF bit - I read that as we have one SEF that is submitted to Ofsted and one that we keep...I interpreted that as maybe keeping two?

"the provision’s self-evaluation where not already submitted to Ofsted."

Or that we can use another form or way of self evaluating practice, as long as its available for the inspector to look at when they inspect...

Clear as mud!!
