Please can you all remind me the GOOD points of this job. Feeling very low at the moment. My house is getting bombarded with contagious diseases and its getting me depressed. It's been one thing after another these last 2 months, now it's hand, foot and mouth. My hands are really itchy and my mouth is full of ulcers and feel really crappy. It's making me want to give up cm. so really in need of some good points today.

I know what u mean I find this job really up and down. Trying to keep other children quiet while others are sleeping is one of my main problems today. Some parents want them to sleep some don't arrrrgggghhh. Fed up with trying to keep on top of paperwork and the house full of toys. BUT I don't always feel like this everyday is different, today ds has been sent home from school so havnt got out, I don't feel great today got bit of dodgy tum and headacge, need to decide wether to stay open and hope it doesn't turn into yet another bug or close

Think we all get days when we wished we did something else :( i dud yesterday! I had to get up At 6 to take DH to work so I could have the car to pick 1 x 7 year old up from school! She is my only schoolie as the other 2 didn't come back after I was off sick, and she did nothing but moan it's boring with no one to play with except babies, she doesn't want to come she wants to be able to go home and play with her friends! With that and 2 tired/miserable toddlers I was glad when home time arrived! Sometimes Tesco's looks so appealing

Chin up, be Friday before we know it!
We all have the downer days where we wonder if its all worth it but for me, the kids will do something funny or cute and make me realise, yes, it is!
It's that time of year too for colds and snuffles and sick bugs and a lot of people don't like autumn time as its the end of summer and everything's turning greyer (personally I love it, as I've banged on about before!)
Why not try going out for a nice long walk in the fresh air or doing some autumn activities like leaf printing to take your mind off the madness xxx

To answer your question "Why do we do this" the answer is because some of the parents appreciate us - I have just met up for tea and cakes with a little one who is leaving me today to go to school full time - I have looked after him for 4 years, he presented me with 5 hi viz vests with Hector's House and my phone number on the back and a fantastic book called "You Choose" by Nick Sharratt - inside they have written "We are so glad that we chose you!" And I am glad too that they chose me, my life has been so much richer for knowing this lovely family and I am sure we will be friends for a very long time.

Bubble tubs. :)

Sticks. :) :)

Finishing off the left-over jammy toast.

Realising that seeing a train can actually make your day. :clapping:

Rediscovering how great it is to eat apple pudding baby food straight out the jar.

Having an excuse to buy Smarties.

Watching 'Baby Jake' on CBeebies (it's like an acid trip, but cheaper and without the flashbacks). :jump for joy:

What everyone else said, plus
Being at home!
Being your own boss, not having to justify being sick!
Playing!
Seeing the joy in little faces when they achieve something and knowing you helped them...
Grateful parents.

The grass may get long and full of cat do do, but it's definitely greener!

Babies smiles
Afternoon snuggles
Knowing peppa pigs family as well as your own
Being your own boss
Having a tea break whenever you like
Listening to the schoolies tales at the end of the day
Being paid to:
Collect pine cones
Build snowmen
Get messy
Walk in summer meadows
Plant seeds
Make Christmas decorations
Decorate the Christmas cake
And a thousand other things that make up our days!

And this is the woman that had poo from a lovely baby on her clean top at 7.10am this morning!

I feel honoured to have touched the lives of so many families!

Big hugs x
