I am a member of a gym. I pay £300 a year. When I take my mindees swimming I only pay for them as my membership gets me in free. The normal cost of swimming is £3.30. Can I put £3.30 as an expense? If not how nuch can I put down. Also when I go swimming I wear disposable contact lenses which I wouldn't wear otherwise. Can I put that down as an expense? I can't wear my monthlies as the water affects them

I doubt very much you could claim 3.30 for swimming when its covered free in your gym membership which you would pay whether you had mindees or not. they may allow you to claim for each individual set of contacts you use when you take mindees swimming only. If you put it on your sheet your accountant will tell you whether tax will accept it x

If you pay for them then yes you can

I have read it that it cost you 3:30 to take them? Don't forgot mileage if you go in car too

Not the contact though x

What I would claim for in this scenario

£3.30 to take the child swimming
Petrol if only taking minded child

I would not claim for contacts
