Hey
Just wondering if 7 EY children are allowed between childminder and assistant (I've had a baby which now takes us over)
Or do I need to get an assistant or let someone go?

As your own baby would be classed as continuation of care I would think yes

As long as you have the space and assistant is registered you can have six each under the age of eight, so that's three each in the early years, you can vary your numbers to allow for continuation of care or the birth of your own baby, assistant cannot have sole care of any children without first aid training (think they need chikd protection training regardless)
The only problem would be is if assistant was absent for any reason, under no circumstances can you exceed six under the age of eight on your own.
