Has anyone tried to rent whilst childminding because I've found it's horrific because you can't prove your income very well.

Also for future reference is it possible to get a self employed mortgage these days?

I rent but first I used my isa money to pay 6 months in advance. Then had to get a friends sister to be guarantor for me. Remember tax do not see us as a buisness I can't remember what it is called. Thus helps with estate agents.

I needed a guarantor for my rent until my partner moved in a few months after.eventhough I ad several months rent in advance. As with mortgage, they wouldn't look at me until I ad a minimum 4 yrs of accounts. So I'm yet to have my name on our mortgage.. Shame as we could have got a bigger house !

I found showing them my risk assessments and insurance cert helped. I also didn't tell them I was a cm until I had gone for the viewing, so then bombarded them with what Ofsted need and how I would be inspected by them.
Think it helped x

I have 6 months rent up front, and also have my dad as a guarantor so fingers crossed I get some luck today!
