ok so I hope this isnt just me but i've had a voicemail from ofsted this morning asking me to call them to arrange my visit. I've called them back on the given number but every option I pick asks me for my unique reference number which I don't have - i presume you get this once registered? I've tried various combinations of options and just can't get through. I've tried staying on the line and not selecting anything to see if I go to an operator but it cuts you off. I've tried typing in random numbers for my reference again to see if I go through to someone but it doesn't. So frustrating. Really want to get this booked.

Anyone had any experience of this? how do you ring them without a reference number?

I would try calling the main number on their website. They should be able to direct you to the right person.

I would ring the 0300 123 1231 number which is the general enquiries number

I'm pre reg but have a URN -it shows up next to your online application form if you applied online. Not sure if it appears on any of the letters they've sent too. I've used it to call ofsted on that 0300 number so def works :-)

Your EY number should be on any communication you've had from ofsted, I think that's what you need
