You should have asked them to wait as you were eating your breakfast! Why must we be at parent's beck and call!

I would have said fine if they had asked me the day before (I would have eaten my breakfast earlier!)

The perils of the school holidays - less traffic on the roads so maybe in your parents defence they left the house at exactly the same time as they normally do

Mine tend to be the opposite & all arrive late during the holidays.

I can usually guarantee on getting at least two extra cups of coffee before the day starts

I had same thing happen on Friday - a mindee stays at her dad's overnight and mum has to drive 7 miles each way to collect - contracted time 8.45 am - generally arrives 8.30 am (which I don't mind too much) but Friday arrived 8.17 - "oh schools must have broken up, there was no traffic" - I had looked after my grandson overnight, had been up at 5 for a feed and then had a little lie in & hadn't got round to even making breakfast, let alone having time for it to go soggy.

I open for business at half seven and have one come then and we have breakfast together. The second one comes at half eight but arrived at eight and kept me chatting. Not really cross cos I am paid from half seven but I like my cornflakes hot and not soggy x

i agree - or answer the door, ask them to wait in front room as they are early whilst you finish your cornflakes in peace in the kitchen - maybe they'll be too embarassed to do it again!
