Just been on the HMRC site to see about registering as self-employed but I'm not sure when to do it. Its says that you can't register until you've actually started workin as self-employed.
However although I haven't started minding and don't start until the middle of August I have accepted a deposit for 1 of my mindees and have recorded this in my accounts. I will also get another deposit tonight and once again will put this through the books.
Should I register now, because I've accepted payment, albeit a deposit or should I wait until August? If I wait until August do I put my start date as when I accepted the deposit or the actual day I started minding?
It's all so confusing and I thought I was a reasonably intelligent person:laughing:
