Hi
I've just been thinking about how to juggle family time in school hols with minded children. If my husband had time of in school hols I'd like to take my kids to zoo or somewhere. If I'm childminding would that be ok if my husband was with us. He wouldn't be registered as an assistant but he would have had DBS check or whatever it's called. Could he just be in charge of my kids and I'd be in charge of minded kids. Is that allowed?

That's exactly what I do! It states in my parents handbook that my husband may accompany us on trips but that he will only ever be in charge of our own kids and would never be left with a minded child.

Of course. As long as he isn't alone with the minded children and as long as you don't go over your numbers you are fine. I used to go out and take my children, that was why I became a childminder so I could be there for my children.

We also used to go out with friends in groups as well and the friends were not childminder's.
