Hi,
Wondered if anyone might be able to help.
I'm due to finish for my maternity leave on 15th August, only problem is, is that my Pacey membership finishes on 11th July. I've contacted Pacey to ask whether they will cover me until the 15th, but they have said no, they can't do that. I think the minimum they do she said was 6 months. So i either finish earlier or renew my membership.
What has anyone else done while on maternity, continued with their membership or let it lapse until they return? During that month i'm only going to be working 2 days as my other mindees have left either for another childminder or are only term time contracts.
I guess though, just thinking i will still be registered with CSSIW, even though i won't be working, and i need liability insurance for that?
Thanks :) My pregnancy fuzzy brain doesn't help lol

I finished working a week earlier as my insurance also ran out and wasn't prepared to pay for the week. All parents were understanding.

Do remember if you are staying registered with Ofsted as childminders you have to keep your public liability insurance in place. It is a condition of your registration with ofsted that you have insurance.

OOh i didn't realise that. I never renewed it until I started childminding again. Oh well that was 3yrs ago and nothing has since been said.

I'll pay it anyway, as that's the easiest option, whether i would actually need it along with suspending my registration with CSSIW while on maternity, i don't know.
