Does anyone have any long term/permanent variations? Is this something Ofsted would deem acceptable?

I have a variation because a sibling baby joined, but it's only temp until Summer Hol's as I have another child leaving. Just wondered what would happen if they didn't leave and it was a permanent variation? I've always thought it was only something that could be a short term solution.

I'm not sure actually.

I have a variation that finishes mid July due to school leaver. Then I'm back to three again....yes! I'm blinkin hard work having four...lol

And all my variations have had a forseeable finish point.

My understanding is that they can be long or short term - they last as long as you need them to ensure continuity of care for the child/ren.

As soon as circumstances change the variation stops and you go back to 3 under 5.

Hth :D

I got the impression that variations/exceptions were intended as short-term. But then a sibling baby isn't a "baby" for long either. :)
