Hi there,

I am really really new to this and have spent the last two days writing my policies. Just decided to contact my mortgage lender and they said No! :crying:

What do people generally do about this? My provider didn't ask my account number or name so they don't know who I am at this point. Do most people tell or not? I am not tied in but I am a bit worried about equity with the market being the way it is just now :(

You have to get permission from your mortgage / rental agency - so this is something you need to chase up.

Did you ask why they wouldn't cover you? Maybe you just need extra insurance?

I would have another conversation with them, make sure they realise you will be Ofsted registered... insured... professional etc.

If not, maybe consider taking your business elsewhere!

Thanks. She said it is because it is Residential mortgage and I would be running a commercial enterprise. Surely not everyone has commercial mortgages though? I am with natwest. Are other companies ok with it?
