Sounds to me like she didn't want to pay a retainer for care over hols and is trying to get you to do it now, anyway. What a shame all your places are fuull. NOT!

Glad you stuck to your guns! I'd never trust a childminder who broke the law even if it was to accomodate me.

It the parents own fault, isn't it. She should have thought about it before now!

Asking you to go over numbers  I know people DO this but I wouldn't consider it either. Apart from the obvious risks re Ofsted it also invalidates your insurance and probably wouldn't go down well with all the other parents. Not to mention the detrimental effect on the quality of care provided!

Is it just this holiday you are full? Can you maybe offer her the opportunity to renew her contract from September to include payment for holidays?

like you said maybe its because some minders do go over their numbers not that i know any in my area that do unless of course they are only telling me what they want me to know ! but im not happy to do this :( not only am i breaking the law of my ofsted numbers my insurance will not cover and i like quality care not quantity ifucwim . yes im only booked up this summer so i could maybe sort some thing out for next time x
