I have a 17yr old girl coming to see me next week and she needs to do a minimum of 5 hrs a week. No idea what course only needs so little placement but will find out. I was thinking of asking her to do 2x 2.5hr mornings and attend groups with me and my assistant. Can only do certain days when we walk to groups as we wont all fit in the car on other days! So is she ok being responsible for a child in a pushchair? On one of the days the group is really small and we only have 4 under 5's so would myself, my assistant and the student need to go altogether or is she allowed to count in our numbers for that time and have 1 child as part of her ratio? I'm not sure if students are allowed to count now? Any other advice would be helpful :)

Part time students do not count for your ratios.

As to pushing the buggy it would depend on how you risk assessed it - and if parents signed to say they were happy.

Hth :D
