When someone new registers they check medical history and anyone on anti depressants gets a separate medical check with the Ofsted doctors.

So i would say yes, they need to be told. Their doctors will ask to see the childminder to check the risks to the children.

Plus we need to inform them about 'Any significant event which is likely to affect the suitability of the early years provider' and I would say this is significant.

I hope your friend is ok xx

I was put on anti depressants last year following a really rubbish few months. I informed ofsted but never had to see their doctor. They wrote to my GP who confirmed that she believed that I was safe to childmind.

I hated taking them and didn't want to rely on a tablet to make me happy so started counselling as well and came off them in Feb after 9months but reduced my dosage from before Christmas.
