after a recent talk with a CO I have come across the following information. Consultation on proposed changes to the role of the local authority in early education and childcare. It is a very interesting read regarding proposed changes to the LA.

Thank you for sharing this...some big experts there like Prof Eva Lloyd and Kathy Sylva!
So 20 LAs attended this meeting in the Herts area (surely the DfE attended more such meetings)...proof that LAs cannot say they do not know what is going on about the coming changes?

I found very interesting the part that states LAs have to 'offer' the funding to providers ...not must, therefore I am not surprised some are refusing as it is not compulsory to open it to all !
