Can you build some sort of frame and fill it it with bark/wood chip?

You can get the rubber mats (like they have in playparks) at B and Q. It comes as large tiles, they'd be ideal to place around the frame.

I have bark and yes they do throw it / put it in buckets / carry it around in their shoes ...

But I get them to help me sweep it back in at the end of the day with little child sized brooms.

The mats sound like a good idea! :D

:D oh!!! :D i've got a concrete garden as well, and a little tikes climbing frame that sits nicely on foam anti-shock mats from ebay. they cost me £22 for 32sq ft, or £45 for 80 sq ft. i've covered most of my patio in the stuff as i think it looks so child friendly - if u want a pic to see what it might look like let me know!

Oh dear looks like your free climbing frame is going to cost you!

The mats sound a better option than the bark to me

Just had a look at photo. I bought some of these a couple of years ago from Early Learning Centre but I suppose they are cheaper elsewhere.

yes it stays up all year, but is drilled into the patio which keeps it fairly strong in high winds etc.
