My mindee got stung by a bee today (10 years old and she said she thought she would never get stung)

so anyways, im going to divert from my plans for a few days and look into bees in more depth,

got plans on doing creative bees out of tissure paper, colouring in, and visiting the library and getting some books on bees, maybe tasting some honey etc but what im wondering is if anyone knows of any bee templates i can use or any decent bee colouring in pictures

any other bee ideas would be greatly welcomed

thanks

Try a previous thread on here for mini beasts, I know bees don't actually come under this topic but maybe something on the previous posted web sites or another good one that has all sorts is sparklebox.

Hope this helps a little

Hope the little girl is ok ?

You can use characters which are probably very familiar to the children such as Winnie the Pooh, to create a story about bees and the honey they produce. Making up your own story about the bees, the queen bee, the workers, Winnie getting stung on his nose, Tigger not liking honey and being chased by the bees would be the easiest thing to do. Then get the children to find the ending or illustrate their favourite part of the story.

etc

(not sure about the one where they are attracting more bees, but the rest seems ok)

have fun
hope the little girl is ok after her bee sting!!

thanks guys theres some great stuff there.

my mindee is totally fine now, she was more in shock about being stung than the sting actually hurting her

gordon ramsey made honey comb on the f word other day, maybe you could make it???

add with ice cream and some berries.................. *me drools*

For the honeycomb: (makes 400g)

* 75g clear honey
* 140g liquid glucose
* 400g sugar
* 2 tbsp baking soda

1. For the honeycomb: Line a shallow baking tray with parchment paper. Place the honey, liquid glucose, water and sugar in a large heavy-based saucepan and heat gently, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves. Increase the heat and cook until the mixture starts to turn a light golden colour. Mix in the baking soda. The mixture will erupt into a foaming mass. Pour immediately into the prepared baking tray.

2. Leave to cool, then place in the fridge to set. This takes approx 6-10 mins. Break up with the end of a rolling pin and store in an airtight jar if not using immediately.

Bless her I hope she is ok!

I know how it feels and your thead has bought back memories of when I was about 6 or 7 years old.

I was in infants school (which I hated) and I went to put my coat on at playtime and I got stung by a bee 2x that was sitting all snug in the arm of my coat.

Damn dinner lady told me it must be a sharp bit of cotton when I told her that my coat was hurting and made me stick my arm back in there again!!

Once the bee was found and my coat was flapped outside to get ride of the little winged demon, my teacher said that I could paint a picture of a bee, but guess what the cow never did let me. I asked for days after and she kept saying "oh yes, tomorrow" but tomorrow never came! I was so upset as I really wanted to paint a picture of the bubble bee!

If I ever see that teacher again i will stick a bee up her nose for letting me down day after day! hahah
