My goodness...I wish Wilshaw would use less negative language and praise what we do well and encourage improvement
If providers are failing it may be they have no LA support?
He is in a belligerent mood today that does not ignite failing enthusiasm

And they are going to police this based on 1 x 3 hour inspection every 4 years and the judgement of someone who might be biased against childminders before they even walk in the door.

Yep another great policy that inspires me with confidence for the future :ohdear:

I don't have a problem with them making the gradings harder - if they give us proper support and leave LAs and support networks alone.

I don't have a problem with them shutting down bad providers - there are certainly some places where I wouldn't leave my fish.

But it has to be fair because at the moment it is open to so much abuse :(

If you have time please respond to the latest consultation - you never know - one day they might just listen :cheerleader:

I'll fill that in later... :)

Is it just me or is it flipping no ones business what my sexuality is? I usually don't fill in my religion or ethnic group on forms but for goodness sake they'll be asking my blood group, shoe and dress size next......:p

oh and let's see - is that going to change - oh no :panic: it's not - instead we are going to have some monkeys from some agency with possibly no qualifications to support us to improve at all

You are right Juggler We must prevent those LAs who are good from disappearing so that agencies don't fill their shoes with people unqualified to offer support at a huge cost
Those LAs who fail in their support will disappear leaving cms to go and buy support wherever they can...an agency maybe?

Why is it so difficult to engage with some of them and why can't the DfE or Ofsted tell them to up their game and offer what they have a 'duty' to provide and are funded for?
