Thank you have e-mailed link to all childminders I have e-mail addresses for and asked Development Officer to share too.

I think I may have felt before that maybe childminders who don't improve and repeatedly get satisfactory maybe should lose their registration however now I have just heard of a local childminder who has just got her 2nd satisfactory grade and I really don't know why- she is very experienced and I have read her most recent report and really think the things they picked her up on are trivial - this person under the new rules could be in danger of having registration removed.

I have emailed my LA and asked them to make it available to all cms....some are very good but others seem unable to engage with cms...all feel so confused
Please send the link to yours

I suppose those who got satisfactory before may not have improved under the EYFS 2012 as it is harder to get grades?
unless we are told why and where or which areas they are in need of improvement it is hard to prepare and also which are the LAs failing to provide adequate support?
it is all very well punishing cms but surely LAs bear some responsibilities too? and what will happen in future if they disappear?

Is this not saying that it will only effect childcare on non domestic premises? So will the same apply to chilminders?

Yes you are right ...cms are not part of this new inspection regime
This article explains why

Plans announced by Ofsted today will see the existing "satisfactory" rating replaced with "requires improvement".

Settings that achieve this grade will face more frequent inspections and have four years to become "good".

thats made me smile ... so although we are/were told that you would be inspected every 2-3 yrs ( at least, thats what i thought! ) ... actually, its every 4 years ... and thats if you 'require improvement' ... what about anyone else??? !!!

have forwarded links to LA and asked them to forward!

Ofsted gets tough with early years

have I got it right this consultation is not for cms?...but it includes cms in the interest groups. Are they referring to non domestic premises cms? I am now confused

I got satisfactory at 1st inspection should have appealed and its now 3 yrs 2 mths will my grade be reworded with out my chance to prove how much I've learnt and how good I am now? What happens if they don't get round to inspecting me before sept 13 and i lose potential clients because of the words and contradictory inspector Ofsted uses cross cross cross

I think there is confusion here as cms are not part of the inspection reforms so who knows what this means for us
Surely it is up to those who represent us to get that clarified??

There's also a short survey on the consultation proposals

The survey is open to cms but is the consultation open to cms to respond if the inspection reforms do not include us?

Also why are we not included...what is in Wilshaw's mind??

Has anyone responded to this consultation even though it is for non domestic settings?
On page 12 'registered early years childminder' is one of the option to tick so I assume we can do it too
