No, I can't see that as a problem - childminders live in different types of houses.

:D

I live in an upstairs flat and have been minding for 3 years :)

I put off registering for 18 months thinking no one would choose me over the other minders in the area in lovely houses. Then my dd's friends Mum asked me to mind her dd for 2 hours twice a week after pre school and so I wondered if other people might also be interested so registered anyway. I am pretty full up now and parents have visited others too not just me, so doesn't put people off either.

not a problem as long as you can explain how you will provide outdoor play

Definitely not, a lady I know was a cm until recently in a 1 bed ground floor flat.
It may mean your ratios are affected but it depends on the space that you have available.

I live in a 2 bed flat on the 1st floor and was told its fine as long as the kids still get outside and the flat is safe. I thought it would be a problem but apparently not :)
