Ok if we have an outbreak in our area can we exclude a child who is not vaccinated? It is a reportable disease. Had a boy who got it even though he had been vaccinated. He was not contagious.

How long would you exclude him for and would you expect the parents to pay you?

I personally wouldn't seeing as you cannot say for definite that the child in question would get measles.

I suppose if you have it written in your contract that you accepting an unvaccinated child and that you have the right to withdraw care you will be able to do so but if not Im not sure you will be able to introduce without a review of contracts

To exclude un-vaccinated children sound discriminatory to me: parents choose not to vaccinate for many reasons, some are very well researched and intelligent reasons, they may well be medical reasons too. If a child is ill, then they can be excluded. And vaccines are not 100% effective anyway so no one can say they are 100% safe when vaccinated or not.
