Clues in the title of this post I guess! I am going to begin this course soon. Doing part of it online, and attending one tutored session. I was wondering how long it has taken others to compete this course? I note from the OFSTED registration form that you can send ff your registration as long as you have booked on the course. So, does that mean that you can still be completing the course whilst the registration is processing? i.e, if the average time for registration is 12 weeks, and the course takes around 12 weeks (depending on how well I crack on with it!) I could in theory, be registered still within the same timescale?

Thanks!

It only took me an afternoon to complete the CYPOP5 unit of my Level 3 Diploma CYPW course - whole Level 3 CYPW course took 8 months but that was due to change of tutor (first one was hopeless, didnt mark anything!).

Likewise, as part of my Level 3 I did it in an evening. But I was an experienced CM by then, if I was starting from scratch with no prior knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, legislation etc think it would have taken a bit longer.

It only took me an afternoon too but I had been childminding for at least 8 months by then. But I think the cypop5 course that's done on its on is actually much more in depth as my sister is doing it and is gonna take her about 6 months.

That's interesting, I would have hoped a CYPOP5 was the same all over, any way you did it? Although it seems it is done in many different ways.

Moggy, I had the same as you to do and had 4 weeks to complete it - my deadline day was Boxing Day - needless to say I had a rubbish Christmas! Plus on top of that I had a 10 week evening course with more work to complete.
My cypop5 took more time and words than my degree dissertation!!
