I did this survey straight away as I understood the IPPR were going to research 'in general' what effect the reforms of More Great Childcare will have on the future of cms and agencies 'in particular'

I am now reflecting whether the question about ncma recruiting unemployed parents to train them as cms should not have been included in the survey?
This initiative is very much govt's policy and part of the reforms and ncma will receive a huge grant for it

What effect will this have on our future? positive or negative?
Clarification on this initiative is expected from ncma next week...

Sarah...I saw your tweet about question 17 and 18 but I can't remember what they were...also the survey does not allow one to skip on the next page....can you post what worried you?

17. The government is proposing that nurseries will only be allowed to look after more children per adult if they offer a “high quality service”. Should CHILDMINDERS have to meet a similar “high quality” measure (like assessment, qualifications or years of experience)? Which statement do you agree with most:

Yes – you should only be able to look after more children if you meet a “high quality” measure

No - you should be able to look after more children at your own discretion or in conversation with parents

It didn't let me put 'I don't agree with increasing ratios' - and it made me put an answer yes or no.

So in the comment box for 18 I asked it to disregard my answer as it was not relevant.

it made me cross :(

Thanks Sarah
I am unclear as Truss says they, the DfE or Ofsted?, will only allow an increase in ratio in nurseries where they employ a graduate she does not mention high quality...that will take at least a couple of years to put in place
does that mean cms will not be allowed to have more children as now after assessing and discussing with parents while Truss proposes we have two babies?

Her logic is like a piece of gruyere cheese...many holes in it!
Wonder how she is feeling with the pressure mounting and so many joining the day of action?
