Just wondered what people do to record starting points for new children. A friend has typed out the eyfs onto lists and dates them when she sees or knows a child has done them. When she gets a new child she observes for a couple of weeks and then marks on her sheets where the child is up to. Is this a good way of doing it. Also ofsted said to her that she needs skills check lists of stages of development, what are these and does anyone else use them

I use the sheets off progress from the start, my foray day and then I do an observation after about 2 weeks if them settling in, along with the progress tracker, and if course all about me sheet and any info parents give me :)
