Husband and I work together, with an assistant. He was also an assistant but is now a childminder in his own right

I am currently trying to take some maternity leave and we have an someone in for three days a week on a fixed term contract

She is brilliant with the children, so I am thinking, that if it works out and she is agreeable, maybe we could take her on at the end of the contract

Do you know the rules? I know a CM can have no more than 2 assistants

Can 2 CMs work with an assistant each, on the same premises?

The other option is to register as childcare on domestic premises but I'm not sure I'm ready for that

Not sure but I read somewhere that you can only gave a max of three cm's workin together before its classes as a nursery so would it be the same as two cm's and an assistant as still 3 people working together

Hi, I work with my sister as co-childminders but we can only have 1 assistant working and not 2.

Hi,

Childminder can have no more than 3 people working together.
So 2 x childminder & 1 assistant
Or
1 x childminder & 2 assistants

Anything more is classed as childcare on domestic premises

depending on where you live, this can be a planning issue too.
