I have been excused 3 times now as a cm with no problem at all.

I was excused twice - once from the high court and once from the local sheriff court and really had to fight it as I was initially not excused. Both courts said I would go back on the list and would be called again and would not be let of for my job again - despite all the letters! I got called a third time and had to turn up and was selected to sit on the jury in a 3 day case. When I asked why I kept getting called I was told when people were called manually clerks would see why you had been excused and not call you again. Now the computer does the selection - and it doesn't care!!
