Morning All

Over the weekend I signed contracts for my first two mindees, its monday to thursday after school for two hours and then looking after them in the school holidays. Its all been rather quick their mom rang me friday came and signed the contracts yesterday and I start picking them up today after school.

So I now need some ideas or pointing in the right direction (for websites) for actvities for them, at the moment I'm only having them for two hours which isn't very long, but once the school holidays come they will be with me all day.

There ages are 5yrs (Girl), and 8yrs (boy).

Thanks
Naomi:)

I have not started yet, but am pretty sure I have seen some links on here for books that list different activitys to do everyday. Maybe someone more experienced will be able to post a link to those for you.

Come the summer hols I would try to get out as much as you can as they will have a lot of energy to burn off. I do not know if you have little ones as well but the big ones always like bike rides and if you take a picnic and a ball/frissbee (sp?!) you can easily loose a whole day, while keeping the cost down.

Maybe taking part in the local library reading challenges through the summer. As Caroline said, picnics, walks etc are good. Maybe get them out doing some gardening. You could even do some mini container gardens with them.

They will probably want to chill a lot.

Ask them what they normally do, they will be able to give you ideas.

I have hama beads, lots of colouring, sticking, messy stuff they like, beanie babies sometimes, half hour computer slots (do a rota so there are no misunderstandings from day 1), a bit of tv, tea and home comes around quickly.

Some days they read books, skip outside, play with the little ones, jigsaws, get out the tent etc.

Hope they are easy for you :D
