I'm looking to make my mum an assistant. I'm assuming she needs a crb check and 1st aid. Is there anything else? And can she be left wit the children once these are in place? Thanks in advance xx

Yes, I be done that too. She also needs to be knowledgeable of your policies and procedures too, especially safeguarding. Ofsted will send you the relevant forms

Your mum will still only be allowed to look after children for 2 hours unsupervised - so ok while you do the school run, or go to the dentist but not allowed if you want to take a day off or cover for you while you are sick.
