My 15 year old daughter is soon to turn 16 and I can't for the life of me remember what happens when your own child reaches 16, I've been through it once before with my son who is now 20 but can't remember if I was contacted or I had to arrange it myself

When my boys turned 16 Ofsted automatically sent out the forms for me to complete for their CRBs. If you haven't had anything through within a couple of weeks of your daughter's birthday I would phone them.

I think I was contacted by Ofsted when my son was almost 16.

I phoned them to let them know and they said I didn't need to do anything that they would automatically send out the forms :)

thanks, I didn't think I needed to do anything, I'll just wait for them to contact me

My step daughter turns 16 in September. Although she isn't living with us during the week, she is sometimes here during school holidays. I can't remember if I declared her on my own forms or not. Might ring Ofsted to find out.

My son was 16 last August. I heard nothing from Ofsted and called them in October. They said the forms should have gone out automatically (but they hadn't). So don't rely on getting it without you contacting them.
