HI

My names Anna, I'm new here

I got my registration through on the 20th December, I can't believe I'm a fully registered childminder now.

Just got the problem of starting

I'm a little clueless as to how to go about advertising, and of course finding people who want their children childminded. Any suggestions?

I would really appreciate any advice.

I have everything ready though lol, apart from deciding exactly what to charge

I do have a meeting tomorrow to go look round my local childrens centre.

Oh Im just outside wakefield in west yorkshire

Hiya

Its so nice to speak to people who already have experience.

Like I said I am at a loss where to go now that I am registered.

I have got my liability insurance sorted out and it has started, what other things do I need to do.

On top of it all I get married in 3 weeks lol, so its all go here!

My advice for advertising is go to you local schools and playgroups and make yourself known to them, put up leaflets in public places, shops ,schools etc .My sister has just registered and has filled all her places by having a magnetic sign for her car made up with her logo on it. very effective. We also have a website in our area that parents can access to find a minder, it holds most of our details excluding address and inspection reports. Hope this helps.

Hi anna.

Welcome to the forum.

My advice... Advertise everywhere that will allow you too, Just avoid spending money in newspapers as it doesnt seem to prove beneficial.

Good luck for tomorrow and congratulations on your registration

Hi! Welcome to the Forum!

I have had my calls from the Children Information Service website and also leaflet drops I did, oh, and netmums!

Might be a good idea to go on the above site and look what other childminders in your local area are charging and offering to get an idea what to charge yourself.

Hope you get some children soon and good luck with your wedding - try not to get too stressed with it all happening at once!

Hi Anna, welcome to the forum - you will get loads of advise and ideas on here.

I advertised in the local schools first of all, and left cards in my local hairdressers and in the local shops.

Good luck!
