We can claims a proportion of nearly all bills so i would say yes the same as council tax. However I have been known to be wrong on accounts before

Wouldn't it come under your rent?

Don't rent I have a mortgage, the roads are privately owned by the estate of houses I live on. I think I'm going to go with council tax rates seems logical

I childminded out of a flat I owned for 10 years and I couldn't claim any of the Service Charges I paid for the Outside Maintenance of the buildings, gardens and service roads.

I would say no because they are not any part of your childminding costs.

Still maybe Mr Anchovy will come and answer.

It is not set in stone anywhere, but I would say that it would be reasonable to treat it as "rent" which can be claimed at the same rate as council tax.
