I will be doing my first tax return in April, however I did some exam marking in June of last year, I paid tax on the earning's. Obviously Childminding is my first job and the exam marking is supplementary, is there a place to log this in the tax return or will it make things complicated?

You should put the income, any expenses (e.g. postage, travel for attendance at required training etc.) and the tax deducted in the Employment section. Childminding goes in the self employed section of course.
