does anyone know how long i need to keep menu plans of what the children have eaten and fridge/ freezer temperature logs?
I don't think there is any set time so more to do with the purpose of the record. If in case of food poisoning then after a week has passed without a child being ill then there is no requirement to demonstrate what you cooked for them so would only need to keep a menu plan for a week, if you want to use them to demonstrate you provide healthy & varied meals you would want to keep them a bit longer. I do not have a menu plan as such but write what I have provided in my diary.
Again, if there have been no issues with fridge / freezer temp there is no need to keep these for very long (although I have 6 months on 1 A4 sheet so I guess I'll end up keeping them for a min of 6 months). I keep my record in the Safer Food Better Business for childmiders folder.
