Hi all!! I'm new to this but looking to start a new adventure in childminding, the course near me doesn't start till April and I'd like to be up and running by then :-) does anyone know the cheapest best way to get the certificates I need and which courses I need to do?

Unfortunately you can't be registered or start childminding until you have completed everything. The process can take 6 months.

You need the following:

Attend the course briefing session
Attend the course (mine was 9 weeks 2.5 hours on a Tuesday evening)
12 hr paediatric first aid course
Health declaration form
Ofsted application
Policies
Risk assessments
Buy resources and safety equipment for your home
Ofsted inspection
Inform hmrc you are intending to start a self employed business
Get public liability insurance
Receive certificate

You can't do it a cheaper or quicker way I'm afraid and you can't start childminding without all of the above
