Picking a child up

One of my mums car had broke down this morning so she rang to ask would there be any chance I could pick LO up then drop him off later it should be fixed by tonight. She's was going to catch the bus to work after I'd collected him. Would u be able to put the miles for this through accounts I claim 45p per mile. Would u also be able to claim for school run as my lo isn't in school yet so I have to go out of my way to do school runs but I don't mind as it breaks the day up a bit. Thanks

Yes I put through the collection and drop off of a child either to home or school. I always put through the return mileage and have a notebook where I record these mileages.
