observation help

Hi all am new to observations. Was with a child yesterday to drew a picture for a family member. The child carried along drawing when her parent came. The parent commented on my pen pot and the child said it was made of plastic and named other things made of plastic. My main obvs was on the child drawing and what she drew so i could compare to the eyfs goals. should i put the bit about the plastic pot?? it seems important but my main focus was the drawing. Any help would be much appreciated as new to this .

Just write up what you saw happening - and how it shows that the child is learning and developing well :D

thanks sarah i know the plastic idea was good but like i said the main focus was the drawing , i will get the hang of this !!! lol
