I have been asked by members if I can share some more of my group planning - so I chatted with the children over the last few nights and we have planned what we want to do for Feb week 1 - covering Chinese New Year.

I have also included my updated play plan as a few members asked to look at it...

I hope you enjoy some of the activity ideas! :D

Thank you Sarah:clapping: I've always wondered how to do my planning I normally have an activity in mind but never write anything down, because I've never really known how to structure it, so thanks for your example:thumbsup:

I will tell our little man - age 7 - that you like his idea when we collect him from school later!! :clapping:

he's been doing a lot of work on patterns in maths - geometric, repeating etc - and thought it would be a good idea to use the new beads we bought for making necklaces - they are nice and chunky and all different colours :D

That's really helpful, Sarah, thank you! :)

Is the section at the bottom of the play plan used to keep an eye on whether there is evidence of learning across a broad range of areas?

Sarah, do you send your play plans home for parents to see the 'sharing with home'? section - i'm worried if i send them home they might not be returned and my mindees parents don't pick them up, granny does and parents just dump them and run in the mornings so i barely see them accept one day per week at the school, so not really practical for getting signatures etc. Not sure how else i can evidence sharing info with parents without making duplicate copies of things. Any ideas/suggestions welcome.

No, I don't send them home - like you say, they wouldn't come back.

Very often my 'sharing with home' is a sheet of information on eg a schema, a laminated song sheet, some verbal ideas for games, a photo of the child doing something to inspire parents, a paper plate and the bits to make a mask, a book and puppet over the weekend...

I use the section on my play plan to write down what I have shared each month - so I don't forget! :D
