Hi all. I'm really wanting to use the space in my kitchen (where my highchair sits) for other things. I'm thinking of getting a 'community playthings' mealtime chair (or cheaper equivalent if I can find one). This way it could be stored at my low table where the older children sit to eat and do activities and so would take up far less room. (1 year old needs to be strapped in and so can't just put him on the normal chairs where the pre-schoolers sit.)Does anyone have any experience of them, good or bad? Thanks in advance. x

hi, i used them at one of the local children centre and love them. One of my friends have 2. they are very expensive but I would like to have them so I'm saving to buy couple.

Could you use a booster seat on the chairs at the low table you already have instead of buying a new chair, my low chairs have no arms and l have a booster chair attached to one of them

I was due to have 2 of the community playthings chairs with trays with the last lot of grant that the LA gave us. Unfortunately, after I'd put my order in, the grants were all cancelled and we got nothing

I really couldn't justify the cost of buying them myself, but they were ideal for what I wanted, so I hunted round for something similar.

These were some of the options I found:

Little Helper Baby Aqua Hi-Low Chair from FunPod part of the Highchairs range available at PreciousLittleOne (http://www.preciouslittleone.com/product-information/62/17134/little-helper-baby-aqua-hi-low-chair/)

Buy your Concord Lima Travel Highchair, Beige reviews from Kiddicare Portable, Travel and Booster High Chairs| Online baby shop | Nursery Equipment (http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplayA_3441_10751_-1_21676_206206_10001_14633)

East Coast Wooden 3-in-1 Highchair Woolworths.co.uk (http://www.woolworths.co.uk/east-coast-wooden-3-in-1-highchair/1025204853.prd)

In the end I went for the last one. I was really lucky & was given one set on freecycle and I bought one other set (cheaper than the one in the link). I didn't use the tables, but put the chairs at my toddler tabbles, where they fitted perfectly. I did think it was a bit of a waste having the tables but not using them, but they're stored away incase I ever need them & the chair worked out much cheaper than the Community Playthings ones. The only disadvantage is that the trays are fixed on with screws, so don't come on & off easily. But as I was using the chairs at the tables, it didn't really matter. Then if I did want the trays on, they weren't that difficult to attach. It's just not something you'd want to do each time you used them.

Wow, thanks. I'm quite interested in the secondone actually. Looks like it would be really easy to store in my wardrobe when not in use. x
