Not sure if your all aware im currently looking after my 18mth old neice

mum has gone back to work. Ive been asked to have a little boy of 1 on a monday and maybe the odd day here and there,

im pre reg am i allowed at the mo? x:thumbsup:

I would say no. Until you get your registration certificate you are not allowed to look after children (except for relatives) for more than 2 hours a day for payment or reward in your own home. You cannot receive anything for looking after him even a box of chocolates otherwise you will be minding illegally and could be fined.

Also until you are registered you have no insurance if something goes wrong.

To avoid breaking rules, you can start settling in for less than 2 hours a day or you can look after the child in their own home.

It is sometimes easier to wait until your certificate comes through - if the parent is prepared to wait they might be reassured by your waiting until you can be fully insured, completed your training etc.

If you start providing care before you've finished your first aid training and do not have public liability insurance, consider what might happen if there is an accident/incident.

i wouldnt risk jeapordising my registration.
