this is a good document with lots of ideas.

Don't think everything is supposed to be "safe" as such as I think the guidelines are to supervise the children while using them iyswim

Hi Susan. I have a variety of different in my treasure basket.........
Shiney silver pan scourer, nylon pan scourer, yellow foam scourer with abrasive side, a small plastic net bag holding shiney nuggets( the sort you put in the bottom of vases), Crinkly paper from a chocolate box, scraps of different textures of material, piece of bubble wrap tied into a knot, bells clakkers and shakers(about £1.50 from ELC) one of those scrunchie nylon ball things you use in the shower, pegs, a baby hairbrush, sm. wooden spoon, couple of ping pong balls, lg. wooden & plastic beads on a string, different shapes fron an old shape sorter. Its surprising how much you can find around the house when you start looking. obviously they are all regulary checked for safety reasons and the baby is never left alone with them. Sue x

I found making a treasure basket is on going, you pick things up from shops when your out.

the pound shop and 99p shop are good, got my wooden spoons, bath scourer, nail brush and brushes from there.

Asda so some really good little pots at moment for 27p, bought about 5 of them and put different things in them.

The most popular thing my minded little boy loves is measuring cups. He always goes for them and loves the noise they make as they are metal.

Like I said you will come across things alll the time when your out and add to it.
