Early Childhood Action have now published their alternative early years framework document "Unhurried Pathways", available here: ECA (http://www.earlychildhoodaction.com/index.html). Well worth a look for all practitioners! Please share and discuss it with others to help raise awareness, I'd love to see this become successful and influence some changes at government level.

I agree very strongly, I attended the conference 2 weeks ago that launched the framework and it was definately food for thought :D

Thank you - had a quick scim read, looks very interesting - tempted to send it to the mother who withdrew her child from my care to send her for "getting ready for school" pre-school session (10 months before due to start school), because I refused to do the phonic work book with her that they sent from home. This little girl loves being outside and we have had fantastic conversations while on muddy walks in the woods - feel so sorry for her that she will be missing out on these now - but what I did in these sessions was very similar to the Forest schools approach mentioned in this document.
