What .would you do, my little boy has had a sickness bug but is clear at 48 hours tomorrow bit he was sick at 9.30 ish, all my parents know this.

I've said I am happy to work but obviously at drop off at 7.30 its before the 48 hours.

What would you all do? Work as normal, work from 9.30, half day or close all day?

If they decide not to send them at all, when I am happy to work, do I charge them? I charge hourly rates not daily/half daily rates.

I'd open from 9.30. My parents would rather go in late than have to find alternative care for a whole day.

If you take them from 7.30 and then their child gets sick you can be sure they'll blame you and not want to pay. However if the 9.30 start doesn't work for them and they have to find alternative care you may need to compromise on fees.

I agree, if you open less than the 48 hours, they could also use it against you when their child is ill. Just my opinion x

I too would open at 0930 just to cover myself. As you charge hourly it would be ok to refund the 2 hours fees and then if they decide not to send after 0930 then you would be open as normal and therefore within your rights to charge as per normal minus the 2 hours.

At the end of the day it sends out a clear 48 hours and no less message to the parents.
