Never heard of it before. So it's a US thing? Is it being used here too?

yep, American. It caused uproar in Worcestershire.
All accredited childminders were told that this was the way LA were going to quality assess.
I had a 2 day assessment then another few hours in the evening for feedback on my score. Although there were parts of it that I felt were relevent most of it was unrealistic and not suited to childminders in the UK.Search other threads here and see.
We now have a choice as to if we have FCCERS, taking part gives us points on our WER.Whooppee dooo :D
I used the book at the time for reflection and my own evaluation of my practice but now it's gathering dust in my filing cabinet!
