Dd1 is dressing up as a windmill for school tomorrow has been busy all week painting the boxes but have just been to the craft shop to buy paper fasteners and they only had tiny ones! It needs to go through the cardboard box she is wearing would a big one do it? And is there anything else we can use instead .. She really would like the sails to go round!

You can get long paper fasteners usually from your local staionary shop.

Just an idea, could you try a straw, 2 buttons and some string/thick cotton. make a hole in the box and windmill. Thread the string through the first button, thread through straw (button keeps string in place). Put straw throught windmill, then box, with button on the outside. Then to keep the straw in place thread the other button on. Like I said maybe work - who knows till you try :)

Good luck ;)

Thanks a mil! Dh cut up a takeaway foil box and twisted it, seems to have done the job.. Don't know how long it will last but the important bit is assembly first thing so fingers crossed it lasts!!
