Just wondered whether anyone else is like me or am I completely mad?

I start at 5.30am every other week, this mindee then goes by 3 and the rest of mine are gone by 4.45pm most arrive by 7.30am, I try to keep to early finishes and do not mind the early starts at all.

Am I alone?:)

I used to work 6 till 6.30

This last year I start later sometimes 8 and sometimes 9

I'm a early riser anyhow but it's nice to chill out and start work later

I'm not sure I would really like to strart early again

my earliest start used to be 7.45, but for the last year or so, i have started at 9am, apart from a schoolie one morning a week at 7.30 ( but schoolie comes in and goes off to play with DS, so its not the same! )

from january i will be starting at 7.15 one morning, and 7.30 the rest of the week! dreading it! i have got very used to my lazy mornings with my children! but each day will only be one mindee, and they will have breakfast here, so not so bad! i will still be able to potter round getting everything ready for the day! i hope! i finish by 5.30 most days. would like it to be earlier, but its not going to happen!

I hate early starts, since september have had a 7.40am starter and it kills me everyday, feel like death warmed up, I am NOT a morning person. I'm on my 4th cup of tea atm.

I'm used to being up early as worked with race horses for years :D

I love early morning it's my fave time of day:)

At the moment I work Mon 8-5, Tue 7-5, Wed 7-5, Thursday and Friday 8-4 ish so can't really complain much rather finish early than late just to get an extra hour in my bed?!

Im not a morning person. I struggle to muster a smile at the 8am doorbell

Thurs and Fri I start at 7.45am and that early enough. Mum wanted 7.30am but I said I couldn't :panic:

My earliest one arrives at 8.15 which suits me fine allthough new one starting in Feb will start at 8am. I think Id prefer early starts if it meant they had all left by 5.30pm xx

Daisey, 5.30 start? What a fantastic service you offer!!!

I suspect you are very unusual. What a lifeline for your parents.

I do 5.30 starts for one family too. I'd rather I started a little later but they are not too bad to be honest. My DS is an early riser which I why I agreed!

When I first became a childminder I did a 6.15am start, but I finished at 2.30pm, so it was OK.

I now start at 8am 2 mornings a week and 8.15am the other 2 (only work 4 days). That's early enough for me & no way could I go back to early starts :panic:

I have also just started working until 5.30pm instead of 5pm. Adding an extra half hour makes the day seem sooo long and I'm always trying to persuade parents to come early

I love my early starts - just hate it when it also clashed with a late finish, which it seems to every day right now. So am working 5.30am til 7.30pm most days.

Ha ha it just seems to suit me. Used to be 5.30am five days a week but now only every other week. Its only for one family and the lo is lovely. They do, however, pay double for the 2 hours up to 7.30am but were more than willing to do that and I think were quite surprised I said yes

Never been asked for such an early start before or since but it seems to suit us both at the moment. Glad there are others that do it too though makes me feel slightly less of a freak :D

Ha ha.....I'm always made to feel a freak too!
I don't advertise that I open at 5.30 I only do it for 1 family whom I had for a few years! I wouldn't do it for anyone else.
I still have to work until 6pm so no early finish.

But it's nice to know someone is as daft/soft as me!

I used to start at 7.15am , was meant to be 8am but over the time she crept it forward to 7.15am:rolleyes:, I didnt mind though as she would pick up earlier too so let it slide,, now my earliest is 8am and I love having the extra time in the mornings but then I still finish at 5pm at the moment so my days are quite nice, however come the end of november i will be finishing 8pm 2 days a week and just had an enquiry for 2 days till 7pm so I am the other end of the scale now, but I dont mind working late as my family are older so we still get enough time together in the evenings.
