how do i get into becoming a child minder?

First thing to do is look at the web site for your Local Authority, each LA has a different procedure. After that visit the Ofsted web site, look at the Early Years Foundation Stage Stautory framework and see if you can meet all the requirments. Becoming registered can be expensive so make sure it really is for you before going ahead. If you have previous experience of working in Early Years you will probably find it a much easier process.
