I have recently aquired a dark den but I am having problems getting light up toys for it as all of those I have seen are labelled not suitable for under three and all my mindees are aged 1 and 2. Any ideas?

i do use stuff for over 3's in my dark den with my tinies, but its supervised play, and i only give them items i consider suitable.

I agree with that. I do use things that are labelled as being for over 3s, but it is with close supervision. I was told once that it doesn't meant the toys aren't safe for under 3s, it just means they haven't specifically been tested for use by under 3s. I use glow sticks, light up balls, glow in the dark shapes (expose them to light for a while before putting them in the tent), battery operated fibre optic lights & lamps, torches etc. Places like Wilkinsons & The Works often do light up toys.
