When I was little, in the fifties, I remember wonderful books you painted with water for the pictures to appear. Now there only seems one bad one around on amazon (reviews say only grey paper with green washed out colour)
Aquadoodle is fab but pricey.
Any other ideas? My mindees love this

You can buy them in my local post office. Let me know if you dont find any and I will post some to you. They are only about 50p a book. They also sell Stephens stickers and old fashioned fuzzy felts. Love my Post Office :clapping:

I get mine from Wilkinsons, only about 50 per book. Just as good as in the
50's :D

Galt do some really good magic painting books.

The Works have them in sometimes too. Sometimes they have loads then for a while have none, like On the Farm, At the Beach.

I have some from Wilkinsons, but they are pretty rubbish as the colours are faint.

I picked some up in Tesco - ideal for a quick bit of painting without too much to clear up afterwards. The colours don't seem as bright as I remember them being when I was little though. Could be the rose tinted glasses when I look back all those years ago when life was less complicated!

I bought a GALT one last year but it wasn't very good - it looked as though the grey bits were already a bit coloured and when you wet them they didn't really get any more colourful so I haven't bought them again! Maybe I just had a dud one and should try again?! I just went on to buy an aquadraw mat instead!

I think those rose tinted specs were working for me - I loved these as a child, now they seem pretty rubbish but the kids love them still

Just been thorough the airport and Dd3 bought a lovely toy story crayons magic painting set .. This one had different coloured markers dont know how it works but the brown comes out brown! Bit like aquadraw doesn't mark anything else . Was pricey at 9.99 euros but it had i think six markers and 18 pictures. They also had peppa pig or princesses or something

I bought some for my daughter only yesterday from the range, not as bright as using ordinary paint but she thought it was magic being able to paint with just water!:)
