Hi all,
When working with an assistant, when we go on scholl pick ups, each to a different school ,that will take half an hour untill we are back home, do we need to split the number of chidren we have equally ? I am just thinking ahead here. And what if we just had the one pick up, would it mean waking up some of the babies to take them with one of us to stay in our numbers ? I hope this makes sence !
My assistant has first Aid and permission from parents.
Thanks in advance :)

I always do, that way you are both within your numbers at all times. :D

Yes it's really important that you stay within your own numbers.

You also need to consider what will happen if, for example, your assistant goes off the premises at any time when you are working within joint numbers.

Hth :D

Have a look at the new guidelines as I think it is all explained in there. Nothing states that you have to have equal numbers though, just record who has who

Mostly my assistant and I stay together all day but if we do need to split, say it's school run time and it's raining really bad or some children are asleep then one of us will stay at home with 3 and the other take 3 with them.
